The University of Kalyani was established on 1960 according to Kalyani University Act of West Bengal. It provides the courses at undergraduate and post-graduate levels. The University covers an area of 400 acres in Kalyani town and well connected to the road and railway station. The eastern bank of the Ganges is only 2000 meters from the university.
