UPTET Exam Pattern, Syllabus, Selection Process: UPTET – UP Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted every year by the UP govt. to test the eligibility of candidates who are willing for teachers jobs of class 1 to Class 8, in govt schools of UP state. Candidates who have completed graduation and B.Ed. in relevant stream are eligible to take the test. Two paper are conducted under UPTET –
- Paper-1: for candidates interested in teacher post of classes I to V.
- Paper-2: for candidates interested in VI to VIII class teacher post.
Note: Candidates have the option of appearing in either one or both the papers.

UPTET Exam Pattern
For both Paper 1 and Paper 2, the UPTET Exam Pattern is different, candidates are advised to follow this pattern strictly for a sure success in the exam. In 150 minute, total 150 questions of 150 marks will be asked from candidates. Candidates have to prepare the topics according to the syllabus, very well.
Negative Marking: There is no negative marking in UPTET.

Transport and Communication – Means of transport, communication; Rules for transport and pedestrians; Effects of means of communication on the lifestyle.
Personal Hygiene – External parts of our body and cleanliness; general information of the internal parts of our body; Pulse Polio campaign; Balance diet and its importance; causes and methods of prevention.
Living Beings~ Diversity of living organisms, levels of organisation of plants, animals, state flower, state tree, state bird, state animal; knowledge of reserve forest and wildlife (national parks, tiger reserve, sanctuaries, world heritage), knowledge of Kharif and Rabi crops, conservation of species of plants and animals.
Unit – IV (5 Marks)
Matter and Energy – Common properties of substances (ductility, color, state, solubility), types of energy and transformation of one form into another; various types of fuels; Applications of energy in daily life, sources of light and common properties of light. Basic knowledge of air, forest, water, wetlands and deserts; different kinds of pollution, renewable, non-renewable resources of energy in UP, concept of their conservation; water cycle; weather and climate.

UPTET Selection Process
Candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in the exam would be eligible to apply for the Teaching vacancies in UP state. The cut off would be decided by the UP Basic Education Board. UPTET Exam Selection Process totally based on the candidates’ marks in UPTET exam.
On the basis of marks obtained by all the applicants, cut off would be decided by the officials.
